A glimpse of Xiaomi and Oppo's under-display selfie camera

In the wake of bringing full-screen smartphones, companies started using the Nokia. But this design language has always been in disputes. In order to get a holiday from the Dutch, companies like dual-screen, mechanical slider and pop-up selfie cameras have adopted. Now Oppo and Xiaomi are working on a smartphone that will come with an under-display selfie camera. Both companies have got a glimpse of the prototype of their respective smartphones.

On Monday, Oppo's Vice President Brian Shen shared a video on Weibo that included an uncharted smartphone and it was embedded inside the front camera display. The company also shared this video with its official Twitter account. After this, Xiaomi also gave a glimpse of his under-display selfie camera. The company's President Lin Bin posted a video on Weibo which featured prototype of Xiaomi Mi 9 and was integrated into front camera display. At the moment, it is not clear how long this technology will reach the common user.

According to the Phone Talk report, Xiaomi recently patented a particular kind of technology. It allowed two parts of the display to pass through the camera sensor. Samsung is also looking for a way to hide the camera in the display. That is, everyone wants to get away from the Nokia.

OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo owner company BBK Electronics have always encouraged unblessed and non-touch smartphones. Vivo launched the world's first in-display smartphone with fingerprint sensor Vivo X20 last year. After this, the company launched the Vivo Nex with the pop-up selfie camera in 2018 and dropped to Nokia. Similarly, in the Oppo Find X, the mechanical slider was used so that the selfie could get the camera space.
